Prizes of $600 or greater will require that you complete the claim process. When a claim is required, you will be notified through one or more channels.
- For eInstant games, the notification appears directly in the game client during gameplay, where you can choose to click Claim Prize directly in the notification.
- You will also receive an email notification and see the claim listed on the My Claims page.
- These notifications inform you that a claim is required and include the claim expiration date.
- The Lottery may ask you to provide a claim form.
Note: Prizes below the lottery claim required prize amount of $600 are deposited into your iLottery Wallet and become available for gameplay or withdrawal.
How to complete the claim process
- Navigate to Kansas Lottery Playon in the web browser or the app and sign into your account.
- Click on your player profile or name in the top right corner.
- From the dropdown that appears, select My Account.
- In the left-hand column click on My Claims.
- Start the claim by selecting the Claim Prize button and following the prompts.
- You will be required to provide your full social security number during the claim process.
Note: Prize claims can take up to 3 business days to be paid out.
Prizes from $600 to less than $50,000
- After your claim is approved, your winnings (minus any required tax withholdings) will be credited to your online wallet.
- You will receive an email notification once the funds have been added to your account.
- You can then withdraw your winnings using an approved withdrawal method.
Prizes from $50,000 to less than $400,000
- After approval, winnings must be withdrawn to a valid payment method linked to your account.
Prizes of $400,000 or more
- These prizes are processed through the Kansas Lottery office.
- Winners must claim their prize in person.
Tax Withholding
- Kansas Lottery prizes over $5,000 are subject to mandatory tax withholdings:
- 24% Federal tax
- 5% Kansas State tax
